STEWARDSHIP FORMATION

A parish wide effort giving thoughtful consideration to our use of time, talents and treasure with respect to the Body of Christ. An ongoing learning and training program to encourage parishioners to conserve and utilize God’s creation. We are charged with protecting what God has given to us and giving back.

MARRIAGE, BAPTISM, CONFIRMATION

Marriage instructional classes are scheduled with our rector (senior pastor) in advance of the ceremony. Couples meet and discuss the celebration of marriage and commitment with the priest three to six months in advance.

Baptism is a special time in a family’s life. The parents/sponsors meet with the priest to discuss and understand the biblical and liturgical process of baptism.

Confirmation Classes are offered for youth and adults to understand the liturgy, history and tradition of the Episcopal Church.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION

Christian Formation Adult study classes are offered concentrating on theological areas including prayer, scripture and the liturgical calendar.

Education for Ministry A  program of Christian formation utilizing the Bible and theological texts (a University of the South at Sewanee course). Participants meet weekly to study in small groups for academic year, facilitated by certified EFM mentors.

Cursillo A three-day course in Christianity offered annually (typically in October) at Honey Creek for adult Episcopalians. The inspiring and informative course includes talks, discussions, music, chapel services and delicious food. The Jim Purks Memorial Scholarship is available to cover expenses for St. Paul’s participants.

Vacation Bible School Our annual summertime children’s VBS is offered jointly with St. John/St. Mark’s and St. Patrick’s Episcopal Churches. This cooperative effort between local Episcopal churches provides the maximum utilization of resources and fun for our youth! The primary host church location is rotated each year. Ages Pre-K to 5th grade.
